About Luke
I’m Luke Armour, former PR Coordinator for BlogTalkRadio. Earned an MA in Communications at The University of Akron, 2006. Enthralled by the new communication tools and technologies of social media, I wrote my graduate project on Internet PR. Titled Online Public Relations: Using the Internet to build and sustain relationships. After graduation I did the Ad/PR agency thing for over a year.
I have sincere interests in listening to music as well as playing and recording music. Spent several years as the frontman/bass player for a band in NW PA, a gig I really enjoyed. Now, I spend more time playing for my own self-indulgence and stress relief.
I’m an avid (read: rabid) hockey fan and recreational player. Unfortunately, Ohio is not the most hockey-oriented state in the Union, but I can still play once a week at the local ice rink. Not surprisingly, most of the other guys that play are transplants from Canada and New England. There’s just something about lacing those skates up…
I like to travel, fool around with new technology, watch sci-fi programs, read, and write. I received my BA in Speech Communications (PR focus) from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2002, lived in Alaska for a year, and moved to Ohio in 2004.
I’m passionate about public relations, which is why I started this blog in December 2005. My aim is to get NE Ohio up to speed about social media and the impact it has/can have on public relations. I’m fascinated by communication strategies employed by organizations, good, bad, or cryptic. Other than that, I just like to voice my opinions, spread my wings, and learn a thing or two. These opinions are my own, they don’t reflect the thoughts or opinions of where I work or those with whom I work and hang out. This is my soapbox, but I do appreciate any comments you like to share.
